Mains Installation Inspection & Testing
A very high proportion of fires and electrocutions within the workplace are found to have been caused by avoidable electrical wiring faults. Many insurance companies are now demanding that a current ‘Electrical Inspection Certificate’ is in place before they will provide cover.
Periodic inspection and testing is offered in accordance with BS7671 (as amended). This means that most industrial systems require certifying every three years, and commercial installations every five years. In practical terms and to aid budget management, many of our customers now opt for a preliminary 100% inspection and a 33% or 20% test of their installation every year after.
This inspection and testing is necessary because all electrical installations deteriorate through a number of factors such as damage, wear and tear, corrosion, excessive electrical loading, ageing and environmental influences. As a result, legislation requires that certain electrical installations are maintained in a safe condition and so must be periodically inspected and tested for compliance.
On completion of our tests, a full report is submitted detailing our findings. It will contain the test results, complete distribution board circuit charts, a schematic drawing indicating the main electrical distribution of the premises (where requested), and a list of any deviations from IEE Regulations that have been observed.
Emergency Lighting Testing
We can test emergency lighting systems in accordance with the requirements of the 16th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations and BS5266 Part 1 2005.

Our engineers are available for emergency breakdowns and fault diagnosis and can be contacted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
