Fire & Security Engineer Darren Jewell has been with EESI for seven years and has been an outstanding member of the team during his time with us.
His wealth of experience and determination to constantly improve has spread throughout the company and certainly plays a part in improving our overall service.
His qualities as an individual is not only utilised by Darren in his professional life. His passion for exercise and fitness is a huge part of his time outside of work.
Darren is a prominent figure at his local Parkrun club in Stonehouse, responsible for organising the club’s weekly events. He finds it a great way to give back to the local community.
Parkrun is the tip of the iceberg. Darren started running when he first started working at EESI. Since then he has completed numerous marathons globally and has broken the three hour mark on a couple of occasions.
He has been a keen cyclist since the age of 12 and has raced to a high standard in road racing and time trials.
He learnt to swim only four years ago which he has since combined with running and cycling to compete in several gruelling Ironman triathlon events. In the most recent event in Bolton, Darren finished 20 minutes quicker than his previous personal best and 70 minutes quicker than his first event.
Always looking to push himself, Darren’s current goal is to qualify for the Kona Ironman World Championships for his age group in the next two years.
